In short
- Use a custom HTTP MCP connection with protected bearer authentication where supported.
- Grok Bot and Grok Build have different setup paths.
- The live Grok Bot authentication flow has not been verified here.
- A prepared handoff does not dispatch another agent.
Grok Bot can help review SEO findings and coordinate the next worthwhile change. Serpkin supplies site evidence, a ranked mission and a durable record of submissions, checks and later results. You can start with monitoring and planning without giving the Bot a repository. When implementation is appropriate, pass a versioned brief to a coding agent using a separately authorized connection.
- 1ConnectUse a reachable HTTPS endpoint and a protected monitor-only key.
- 2ReviewAsk for site evidence, unknowns and the next supported decision.
- 3Hand offSend the current mission brief to your coding agent when you choose to implement.
Manual MCP connection
Grok Bot documents custom MCP servers in its app connections. Add https://serpkin.com/api/mcp there, then supply a Serpkin agent key through protected bearer-header settings where supported. The required header is Authorization: Bearer <your-agent-key>. Create the key in Serpkin's Agents page and start with Monitor only. Never paste a credential into the Bot conversation or include one in a handoff.
This is a manual Streamable HTTP connection path, not a marketplace plugin or native certification. The live Grok Bot static-key sign-in flow has not been verified here. If your connector only offers OAuth, do not assume the Serpkin key will fit that flow: Serpkin currently uses static bearer keys. Check the current client authentication controls or use an HTTP MCP client that supports protected headers.
Remember where the Bot runs
Grok Bot runs on a persistent cloud computer. A localhost URL on your laptop is not the same computer, and simply adding that URL will not connect it to a local Serpkin process. Use a reachable HTTPS deployment and follow your team's connection policy. Grok Bot's documentation also notes that its Bots share the account's computer and connections; treat a key placed there as available within that account's environment.
Grok Build is a separate coding client. Its grok mcp commands and terminal configuration should not be presented as Grok Bot connector instructions. Likewise, support for MCP in the Grok API does not prove that every Bot UI authentication flow has the same options. Keep those product distinctions visible when debugging a connection.
First useful request
Call serpkin_get_workspace. Ask which website I mean if needed. Read that site's weekly summary and next mission. Explain the evidence, what remains unknown, and the next supported decision. Do not start research or implementation without my instruction. The response confirms the authenticated connection, discovers site ids and reports key access. The Bot does not need a local project file or MCP resources for this step. For later research, give it research access and an optional monthly ceiling. Queued research reserves budget; site-level schedules remain separate workspace activity.
To coordinate implementation, request the current handoff, transfer it through an authorized channel and have the receiving agent re-fetch it before editing. Follow the same mission through acceptance, submitted artifacts and verification. A handoff does not launch another agent. A human reviews and deploys changes; later search measurements do not establish causation. Read the connection reference and the SEO management guide for the complete workflow.
Questions
Is Serpkin a native Grok Bot integration?
This is manual MCP setup guidance, not a native plugin or certification. Live Grok Bot bearer-key authentication remains unverified. Check that your connection UI supports protected Authorization headers before proceeding.
Can Grok Bot connect to Serpkin on my localhost?
A localhost address on your laptop is not reachable as the same machine from Grok Bot's cloud computer. Use a reachable HTTPS Serpkin endpoint and follow your team's connection policy.
Does an SEO handoff automatically launch a coding agent?
No. A handoff prepares the current mission brief. You authorize its transfer, the coding agent re-fetches the brief, and a human reviews and deploys the resulting changes.
